Our studio spaces are the vision of Canadian champion and World Finalist Brenton Mitchell.
He was the Canadian 10-Dance Champion in 2016 and 2017, and the Canadian Ballroom Vice-Champion three years in a row starting in 2015. In 2017 he represented Canada in the Finals of the World 10-Dance competition in Linz, Austria.
His vision was a space created by dancers, for dancers. But he wanted the flexibility to embrace a wide range of health, wellness, movement and social activities, reflecting his training in kinesiology and occupational therapy.
As a child growing up in Nova Scotia, Brenton’s first experience of dance was in school. He was introduced to ballroom dancing by a teacher in his second-grade gym class.
That teacher – Evelyn Edgett – and her daughter Jane, became life-long mentors, and the studios retain the Edgett name as a tribute to the inspiration for Brenton’s love of music and movement.
Now he’s sharing his passion for dance with all ages and all abilities. At Edgett Dance and Wellness you need only one thing to enjoy dance – desire. Our team will do the rest.
Whether you are a social dancer or a competitor, a beginner or a more experienced performer, you’ll find a warm welcome and exceptional instruction at Edgett Dance & Wellness.
